Hon'ble Dr. Justice Chillakur Sumalatha: Dr. Chillakur Sumalatha born as eldest daughter to late Sri Chillakuri Venkata Subbaiah and late Smt. Lakshmi Prasanna, obtained her Law degree securing Gold Medal in Constitutional Law, and thereafter practiced as an Advocate for ten years. With an intention to serve as Judicial Officer, competed and got selected as District Judge in the year 2007. Worked in different levels at different places. Also served as Principal District Judge, Kurnool, Principal District Judge, Guntur, Director of Judicial Academy, Hyderabad and Chief Judge, City Civil Court, Hyderabad. Acquired Masters Degree in Constitutional Law and did research on the topic Right to Speedy Justice in India A Critical Analysis and obtained Doctorate in Law. Elevated as Permanent Judge of the High Court for the State of Telangana and assumed charge on 15th October, 2021. She was transferred as a Judge of Karnataka High Court and assumed office on 23.11.2023.
